Smart Water
Smart water devices have come a long way in recent years and really go a long way both in terms of protecting your home from water or flood damage and helping reduce costs in terms of water consumption or saving on insurance premiums.
A smart water meter is a standard or conventional water meter, and fundamentally performs the same function. However, to make it ‘smart’, the meter is attached to a device that allows continuous electronic reading, storage, display and transfer of water consumption data for the user.
Another device is a smart water-leak sensor. These smart home devices send alerts right to your smartphone no matter where you are.
Most water-leak sensors are tiny pucks or sensor points that you can place near or underneath a water source. Some use battery power, and others need an outlet.
